In Greek mythology, Prometheus stole fire from the Gods and gave it to mankind...
That's how the idea got started.
"I was never a certification junkie, so it wasn't until mid 2019 that I got my CISSP. Then in the spring of 2020, I was poised to start a side-hustle teaching cybersecurity. The campus where I was to teach closed down three days before my class was to begin, due to Covid 19. So we pivoted, and taught the class (a full 24 week semester, 3 nights a week) entirely over Zoom.
In the course material, I was exposed to certain Open-Source (at the time) elements of cybersecurity software that sparked an idea: what if I could bring enterprise-class security software to small and midsized businesses at a gentler price-point than all the Enterprise software I had been selling for years? So that's how it began; I wanted to be Prometheus, and bring enterprise-class security solutions to everyone that needed them!"
"That was the original idea, anyway. Now it's four years later, and a lot has happened. A couple jobs came and went, projects started and completed, life staggered on. All the while, I have been collecting trusted colleagues to help me build the dream of Prometheus. But the idea was too narrow. I sat down in the fall of 2023 and rewrote the business plan, because I started to see more and more possibilities. I had recently worked at Delinea, and felt very passionately about their software. I also decided to embrace my natural tendency toward teaching, and fold that into the plan.
What came next is what I have colloquially referred to as the Four Pillars: Education, Solutions, Managed Services, and Premium Consulting. And that's what you see here on our website. We're not just here to hock product. We are here to teach, educate, evangelize and assist. There has been a teaching component to my career for over 25 years, so my goal is that you walk away with knowledge, information, assurance and trust."
